This is an exploratory, descriptive, and qualitative case study that aims at describing the knowledge and practices of clients with wounds. Data were collected through direct observation and the administration of semi-structured interviews to 12 clients with wounds attended at a basic health care unit in the municipality of Cruzeiro do Sul, Acre. After thematic data analysis two categories were identified: the 'knowledge of clients with wounds'; and 'care practices'. It is important to maintain a dialogic relationship aiming for the consistency of care. It should be taken into consideration that caring transcends wound treatment because it involves the clients comprehensively and humanely, considering their cultural context and their world view.Downloads
