Abstract

The present study aims to investigate the position of the newspaper O Globo before the first heterodox shock of the Sarney period: The Cruzado Plan I. Proceeding with the contextualization of the Brazilian political scene, in full democratic transition and transformations in the social and political spheres, it is also it will portray the insistent economic crisis that loomed inflation at dangerous rates, with the press as an interlocutor after the progressive conquest of freedom of expression. Therefore, the newspaper O Globo will serve as a point of analysis during the Stabilization Plan in 1986, noting its inconsistencies and opinions through its editorials.
