Abstract

In 2019, the fall of the Berlin Wall completes its 30th anniversary. However, the lack of analysis about the Brazilian position on the greater battlefield between the two powers – Berlin – showed us the importance of the production of knowledge that once encompassed in a representative way the conflicts related to the Cold War. This research focused on the way the German division influenced a society that was watching astonished the fight for the worldwide hegemonic conquest between two antagonistic economic blocs witch had extremely divergent policies. Taking journals as the main source of research, specifically Folha de São Paulo and Jornal do Brasil, we aimed to keep in close contact with societies that faced simultaneously internal and external conflicts – both in Germany and in Brazil.
