The Revista Mineira de Enfermagem and the dissemination of scientific production in nursing

Abstract

In recent years information has become important as a strategy and tool for knowledge in the world order. This article shows the history of scientific journals, describing the setting up of one of them, the Revista Mineira de Enfermagem – REME, and the stages of the editorial process. It discusses the criteria used by the consultants in analyzing the articles and indicates the main difficulties of the editorial process, printing and distribution of the journal. It also reports some aspects of the restructuring project that was implemented as experienced by the team that runs the journal, as well as the promising outlook and the potential for dissemination of scientific knowledge in the context of Brazilian nursing.
