From foundations to the production of meaning
Abstract
In this text we'll discuss some aspects of conceptual formation and conceptual representation, considering the ways this question has been formulated in the development of Semantie Theories for natural languages, in the last decades. In association with this conceptual approach, we will show its relevance for the understanding of linguistic actions. Therefore, in the first section, we’ll try to set up the difference between knowing, representing and informing, in the limits of this formulation; further we'll discuss knowing and representing, according to a kind of conceptual representation, that is, meaning calculus; finally, we'll emphasize a possible model to realize informing as a component of speech acts, henee in a meaning production dimension.Downloads
