The process of constructing documentary information and the knowledge process

Abstract

The process of constructing documentary information as well as the knowledge process use content segmentation, analogy and generalization. Starting with the discussion of Umberto Eco’s text ´Marco Polo e o unicórnio´, we intend to show that documentary information is not an a priori fact, but it is related to contents segmentation carried out from organization hypothesis. These operations must be supported by terminology to give more consistency to documentary languages.
