Online Scientific Journal Portals: Institutional Organization of Publishing

Abstract

The article analyzes Brazilian online scientific journal portals from federal and state institutions of higher learning. A literature review on scientific communication is made, focusing on online scientific journals. Through an exploratory and descriptive methodology and documental collection of data, a qualitative-quantitative analysis on portals of scientific journals was endorsed. Indicators of institutionalization and journal policies were verified, and as a result, a quantitative mapping of portals and platforms used was made.
