REFLEXÕES E PROPOSTA METODOLÓGICA SOBRE A IMPORTÂNCIA DAS TECNOLOGIAS DIGITAIS PARA A DOCUMENTAÇÃO E PARA A PRESERVAÇÃO DO PATRIMÔNIO EDIFICADO DO CENTRO HISTÓRICO DE ILHÉUS (BA)

Abstract

The history of the cocoa plantation in Ilhéus, and the periods of the peak of this economy, involved investments in the construction of several buildings of historical relevance. However, the cocoa monoculture crisis in the 1980s and the consequent diversification of the economy in the municipality of Bahia, which has come to be characterized as an agricultural, commercial and tourist economy, directly influenced the heritage-city relationship, which occurred in spite of any an efficient and permanent policy for the preservation and safeguarding of the built historical heritage, raising the concern with the conservation of these monuments and the safeguarding of their memory. Based on this scenario, this article presents reflections around the development of a project designed to analyze the importance of documentation as an instrument for the preservation of this memory, considering the evolution of computational technologies and the emergence of new documentation tools and methods, presenting an initiative to develop an information system on the Built Historical Heritage (BHH) of the old center of Ilhéus, aiming at its dissemination, valorization and preservation.
