REPRESENTAÇÕES DO URBANISMO NAS REVISTAS DE ARQUITETURA, 1975-1995

Abstract

The present work intends to contribute to the identification of changes in the representations of urbanism and, more specifically, about the role of the architect as an urban planner in the Brazilian and Argentinian architectural-urbanistic cultures between the late 1970s and the early 1990s. To this end, we analyzed comparatively the publications relevant to urbanism in the magazines Projeto and Summa in order to identify the main oscillations in the architectural-urbanistic culture. The choice to compare Summa and Projeto publications was due both to the commercial character of these magazines (with diversified publications and similar periodicity), as well as to the reference and interlocution relationships that link them in the 1980s. the agents highlighted in the representation of the practice of urbanism and the prioritized scales of approach.In addition to the simple identification of the moments when the architecture magazines show a greater or lesser interest in urbanism, the analysis of the longitudinal content of this corpus based on the following aspects was also carried out: the agents highlighted in the representation of the practice of urbanism and the prioritized scales of approach.
