The Importance of Aesthetic Mediation in the Affirmative Poetic Elaboration by Conceição Evaristo and Castro Alves

This paper has a proposal to establish a relation between the poems “Mãe do cativo” and “Vozes-mulheres” about the formal strategies to the thematic configuration of black and feminine figures. In this way, we will surround with the concepts of engagement, committed literature and pamphlet literature to discuss how art captures social and historical aspect, promoting reflection that often contrast with the writer´s performance, the latter being more grandiloquent than the first. Thus, the structure and form of the poem, as they are not immediate, demonstrate a conciliatory aspect, characteristic of national formation, and are therefore more realistic, able to represent the totality and its deformations, compared to individual experience.
