Having been published sparsely, the first time a poem by Ismael Nery appears in book is in Antologia de poetas brasileiros bissextos contemporâneos (1946), organized by Manuel Bandeira and from where will be extracted the occasional corpus for the analysis in this article: a poem already published in the magazine A ordem and two unpublished so far. Due to the relationship between the poets, murilian writing – at times in prose, at times in verse – offers itself, by the circumstances, as a mediator of lyrical understanding of the friend through the poem replicated and the volume Recordações de Ismael Nery, which gives the size of friendship that surrounded them, as well as the involved conflicts. To offer a counterpoint to those verbal significant, the memorial prose of Pedro Nava will be triggered through O círio perfeito, because it depicts precisely the profile of that persona in focus.
